The SM Mall of Asia's International Food Fest

September is the start of Christmas Season here in the Philippines, and since this joyful season is all about fun, family and food, SM Mall of Asia is about to unfold an exciting gastronomic event that will not just share the best of the best, but rather take everyone on a world tour with their SM Mall of Asia's International Food Fest.

From international concerts, to international pyromusical and now to international food fest, this whole month of September, all participating food establishments in SM Mall of Asia will be sharing specially prepared dishes enough to give a gastronomic tour around the globe. The SM Mall of Asia's International Food Fest includes an exciting lineup of activities that will sure to whet one's appetite for great food discoveries, awesome prizes, and special treats!

Big Better Bangus (Congo Grille), and TMNT Doughnuts (Krispy Kreme)

And last Monday, together with selected food bloggers in the metro, I had the privilege to try a bit of this exciting tummy-filling event that SM Mall of Asia has prepared for food lover out there. And out of the 50 participating restaurants that will showcase dishes prepared exclusively for this month-long celebration, which are also called "Special Eats", I had a chance to try the offerings from Congo Grille, Vikings Luxury Buffet and Krispy Kreme!

For some Filipino food love, Congo Grille's Big Better Bangus is a must-try. Perfectly cooked huge milk fish - the biggest I've seen and eaten - Congo Grille's version comes in this garlicky flavor with a crunch that will invite you to dig in for more. Every order comes with some garnishing and Congo Grille's very own fried milk fish dip that compliments to the flavor and texture of this well-love Pinoy dish.

As for Viking Luxury Buffet, if you are looking for some great Italian goodness, for the MOA International Food Fest, Vikings will be preparing these flavorful and festive-looking dishes that will not just fill your tummy but as well as your other senses. I super love the Calzone! A must-try this season!

The last but not the least food joint that we visited that night was Krispy Kreme! With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as their featured doughnuts this season, do I really need to say more? Hahaha!

Aside from the amazing treats from the food establishments, SM Mall of Asia will also put on an exhibit the photos of the "Special Eats" dishes, and this will be at the Main Mall Atrium, Main Mall Entrance. For those who think they are good enough to prepare these featured dishes, SM Mall of Asia invites all of you to participate in the live cooking demonstrations to be conducted by the top chefs of four select restaurants. The cooking demos will be held at Tempura and Sbarro on September 5 and at Claw Daddy, New Orleans and Vikings on September 12, 5:30 pm onwards.

As for people, like me, who rather take a picture of their food and eat it, there's the Special Eats promo, where amazing treats are up for grabs. A social media contest to be hosted on the Mall of Asia Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook account will give two lucky foodies a chance to dine with culinary luminaries at an exclusive Chef’s Table meal, and each will get two round tickets to any local destination via Air Asia Zest.
