Café 5845 is now Open at SM Mall of Asia

Dream. Believe. Survive.

This seems to be the driving force behind Kraft Eden Cheese and Magsaysay Center for Culinary for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) that pushed them in reaching their dream - to prepare numerous dishes using Kraft Eden Cheese as the base ingredient - in believing - to steal the title f the Guinness World Record for Most Dishes Served in a Day from India - and in surviving – for having the first and only cheese café in the world, the Café 5845.

From the 5,845 cheese-infused dishes that Kraft and MIHCA displayed last December at Araneta Center, comes Café 5845. A first in the world, this café will serve the most number of cheese dishes that will fill our tummies daily!

Cheese lovers, attack!

Lucky me, I was one of the first people who got to experience the sumptuous cheese dishes they have at Café 5845.

Located just right after the entrance of IMAX Theater, this very chic and shabby cafe is perfect any time of the day. I love the concept of this place because, for one, you'll get to enjoy the sun in a more skin-friendly way, two, the design fits on a day and night chit-chat with friends, and three, the place was simply relaxing. It's like having a tea time with Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte of Sex and the City! Hehehe.

Ibayo by Barrio Fiesta

As this new world spins, our lifestyles and habits changes. Same goes with our choice for food, our palette may escalate and look for something unique and really delicious, but there’s one restaurant chain that we will surely never miss out, Barrio Fiesta.

And by golly, who says restaurants don’t evolve? Wait till you visit Ibayo.

Ibayo which means “the next town” is the first baby restaurant that came from the Barrio Fiesta chain. Situated at the very lovely and hippy San Miguel by the Bay at the SM Mall of Asia complex, this modern bistro my latest target of my hungry tummy.

Established by the handsome brothers Tyrone and Tristan Ongpauco, third generation members of the Barrio Fiesta Restaurant Chain clan, they decided to put up a place along this hotspot to give family, friends and even lovers a breath of fresh air to unwind and enjoy the wonderful sunset or night life along Manila Bay.

I’ll say upon entering the place, I still felt the heart-warming welcome of an original Barrio Fiesta restaurant, which I think was a really good way to welcome their guests. The interior, though simple, was very Filipino, but with a modern touch. Long tables and comfy chairs were placed nicely, giving this small area a breezy and homey feel.

Modern Indian Taste at Namaste India

Namaste meaning “I bow to you” is one of the popular Indian greetings that are known worldwide. It is a symbol of every Indian to give respect to their elders, traditions, gods and guests.

And now, as I discover this new place at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) named Namaste India, let’s pay respect to one of the world’s most wonderful and festive cuisines – Indian cuisine.

I barely have Indian food because for once, I’m not a fan of spicy food. Thankfully, at Namaste India they serve something that caters Filipino’s tolerance towards spicy food and that’s one reason why you should pay a visit at this place.

If you’re a vegetarian or if you’re a Muslim and looking for some halal dishes, this place is a must-try.

1st Philippine Chocolate and Ice Cream Show

It is more on the business side than about the showcase of different chocolates and ice creams per se, but I still got to enjoy and learn something new about the industry of chocolate and ice cream making at the 1st Philippine Chocolate and Ice Cream Show.

Typhoon Basyang couldn’t stop this mouth-watering event as chocolate and ice cream aficionados and retailers conquered World Trade Center in Pasay City to witness this gathering of pots and pans, flours and sugars for the country’s first ever chocolate and ice cream expo.

From nuts, to wines, to soda and soda makers, to the displays of their sweet products, to the stuff that you can use for parties, basically, everything was at this expo.
