Aussie Fruits: Now in Season!

Just when you thought you had the freshest, juiciest and most delicious export fruits from China, Europe and America, the Land from Down Under is back to impress the Philippine market with their baskets of freshest, juiciest and most delicious export fruits that come in its healthiest and juiciest form! Now in Season, here comes Australia's grapes, pears and stonefruits (peaches, nectarines, plums)!


"Starting this month, shoppers of Robinsons Supermarket, Rustan's Supermarket, S&R, and Shopwise can enjoy these delicious produce from Australia," shared by Australia's ambassador to the Philippines, Bill Tweddell.


Together with industry representatives Jeffrey Scott (CEO, Australian Table Grape Association), John Moore (CEO, Summerfruit Australia), Olivia Tait (Market Development Manager, Apple & Pear Australia Limited), Hang Do (Trade and Investment Specialist, Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Infrastructure) and Anthony Weymouth (Senior Trade Commissioner, Austrade), the Ambassador launched 'Now in Season 2015', Australian Embassy's effort in bringing Australia's best produce, at Sofitel Manila.

Australian Oranges in Philippines Soil

"Australian oranges have long enjoyed a reputation for being the sweetest in the world.  And very importantly, Australian farms are known for being pollution-free with high standards of food safety. We are proud of our Australian oranges which are ‘Sweet, Safe & Healthy," explained Ambassador Tweddell.


In an exclusive tasting event hosted by Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Bill Tweddell, selected media personalities and bloggers get to taste Australia's pride. Dubbed as "Australian Oranges – Now in Season", the event officially kicked off the season and availability of Australian oranges in the Philippines. Woohoo!

Citrus Australia is the first brand that reached the Philippine market, and though General Manager of Market Development Andrew Harty admitted that it took them years to finally sell these tasty and zesty Aussie goodness here in the Philippines, they are glad that they are finally here all thanks to the help of Australian Embassy in the Philippines.

Tasting Australia at The Peninsula Manila

The Land from Down Under is about to steal the spotlight from our local foodie scene as the Australian Embassy in Manila together with The Peninsula Manila celebrate Australia's National Day with a month-long festivity starting with an exquisite gastronomic adventure to Australia's renowned gourmet produce and world-acclaimed wine through "Tasting Australia."

A nine-day celebration filled with nothing but the goodness of Australian cuisine, which started last January 18 and will last until January 26, Tasting Australia is already captivating every local and international guest's palette with its indulgent buffets, exotic poolside barbecues, wine and beer tastings.


Headed by The Peninsula Manila's Australian-born Executive Chef Richard Green, who was named "Best Chef of the Year" in the Middle East for 2012, Tasting Australia is offering a wide range of Australian dishes from Cold Appetizer, Hot Appetizer, Soup, Beef Tenderloin down to their Dessert selections.
