Food Tripping in Baguio's Slaughter House

Some of you may feel uncomfortable to see this. Some of you may not believe that I did it, and assume that I eat like a vampire. And then, there must be some of you who knows the place and can't help but to drool now as you are being reminded of those tasty yet very affordable dishes that you once had here in Baguio City's famous Slaughter House.

Formerly a real slaughter house, this place is technically in Balajadia Street in Barangay Sto. Nino, Baguio City. Famous for its unique dishes, which are mostly aphrodisiacs, this place may not be the usual food spot to ordinary visitors, but believe me when I say that you'll enjoy the food here more than you know.

Coming here may be a little problem to some, since its real street name is over shadowed by the name "Slaughter House". But don't worry, there are a lot of Baguio cab drivers who are familiar with the place, so asking them to take you here in Baranggay Sto. Nino will definitely no fuss.

My First Hop to Kangaroo Jack

It was at SM North EDSA when I first saw this store named Kangaroo Jack actually, and though I wasn't able to try it then, I'm glad that my first enjoyable dinner from this place took place at SM City Baguio, where the ambiance is definitely relaxing and eating delicious food is a must-do - every hour! Hahaha!

Kangaroo Jack is the latest addition to the growing casual dining place in SM City Baguio. Located at the veranda on the left side of the mall, leading to Starbucks, Kangaroo Jack just opened a few months ago offering mostly American dishes ready to heat up and fill your tummies one dish at a time.

A Mongolian Experience at Baguio City

On our last night - last cold night - at Baguio City for the Eurotel's Baguio Bliss, the Eurotel Team treated us to one of Baguio's hottest dinner buffet now. It is not European, it's not American, it's Mongolian! And who would say no to a steamy eat-all-you-can buffet dinner at O' Mai Khan Grill and Hot Pot?

With the City of Pines' cold weather and tiresome scenic places, you can't blame visitors eating here and there. I love eating in Baguio because it is really tiring to go in and around the city. And with the province's fresh of the freshest vegetables, fruits and meat, food tripping is really a MUST-DO here.

So, when the Eurotel Team asked us if we wanna the try city's hottest Mongolian eat-all-you-can buffet, we eagerly said YES!

Located at Otek Street, Rizal Park, Baguio City, this place offers quite a wide range of ala carte and buffet selection. And during that night, as the temperature drops down and the stove of the kitchen gets hotter and hotter, more and more tourists - local and international - check out the place to have a steamy hot meal.

And since we have one business in mind that night - the eat-all-you-can buffet a.k.a.Mongolian Barbeque, which cost Php210.00 for adults and Php150.00 for kids 4 feet and below - we went straight to the tables that were reserved to us, ordered our drinks first and then fall in line with the rest of the guests to the buffet counter.

Oh-Em-Gee at Baguio City!

OMG as in Oh My Gulay! If it's your first time here in the City of Pines, well, here's a nice artistic establishment ready to fill you up to world-class healthy food that I'm sure they'll make you say OMG! As in Oh, my God! Tempting? Visit Oh, My Gulay now!

One of the fondest moments that we got to enjoy while staying in Baguio City for the Eurotel's Baguio Bliss 2012 was to dine in this kinda weird looking place called Oh My Gulay. Located at the La Azotea Building at Session Road, Oh My Gulay is an artistic cafe that gives your the best of both worlds about the people of Baguio and the food that they love to eat, vegetables!

With this very unique artistic flare that will turn your heads every now and then, Oh, My Gulay also brings their artistic craft into their food. For example, the food that I ordered, which is their Oh My Gulay Rice is just actually a rice-in-a-box kind of meal. But when they served it to me, I was amazed by how Greek it looked like. It actually reminded of me an episode of America's Next Top Model where the models posed on a life-size Greek Salad.

World’s Largest Bibingcrepe by Half Moon Asian Cafe

A first of its kind, I got to witness the first-ever and largest bibingcrepe I’ve seen in my whole life, and dear Lord, that was one huge piece of bibingcrepe! Hehehe.

Held last November 23 at Halfmoon Asian Cafe at Tomas Morato, Quezon City, I was invited with my fellow blogger to take part on this gigantic and momentous celebration of good friendship and good food.

The Bloggers' Bibingcrepe Challenge

I believe, one of the happiest moments that we had on our field trip recently was the Bibingcrepe challenge that we had. Yes, Bibingcrepe - bibingka na crepe! Sounds interesting, right?

Well, we met at the Half Moon Asian Cafe at Tomas Morato where they served this tummy-filling, super yummy dish, BUT the challenge that we, bloggers, had didn't happen here! It happened up, up and away there in Baguio City! Wee!

Yes, we had our field trip there in Baguio, the Summer Capital of the Philippines, where we stayed at the very comfy Mines View Park Hotel! Wee again!

And since Half Moon Asian Cafe and Mines View Park Hotel is under one management, we bravely took the challenge of making our very own Bibingcrepe with the help of Mines View Park Hotel and Half Moon Asian Cafe Baguio gents! Yes, there's a Half Moon branch in Baguio! :-P

One of the fun indoor activities that you can request to the hotel management if you stay with them is to learn something like cooking the Half Moon Asian Cafe's pride, Bibingcrepe! Isn't that great and exciting.

The Sinigang with Strawberry Experience

I just got home from Mines View Park Hotel in Baguio and I just can't wait to share this interesting food find that I got to know. But first, let me acknowledge the very warm accommodation of the said hotel to me and my colleagues that we received during our stay in their hotel, Thank you so much, guys!

Mines View Park Hotel is really nice great and very quiet, one of the things that I love about our trip here. But aside from the great accommodation that we received from the staff of this hotel, our tummies also enjoyed all the love from all the sumptuous dishes that they served to us.

And one of the dishes that we had  and I'm sure, we'll never forget, was the Sinigang na Baboy with Strawberry.

Yes, you read it right! SINIGANG NA BABOY WITH STRAWBERRY!
