Afternoon Snack at Big B, Maginhawa Street

My last stop for the Food Panda Maginhawa Food Crawl speaks nothing but BIG. Big in surprise and big in flavor, Big B offers to us their amazing burger snacks that come in quarter, half and one-pounder size. A food joint that came from a simple idea, Big B is indeed one of the hottest places along Maginhawa Street in Quezon City when you speak of burgers.

This straight-forward, no hanky-panky store has its first store here at #44-B Magiting Street, Teacher's Village, Quezon City, just a stone-throw away from the famous food street of Maginhawa.

Big B started as a burger joint inside UP campus a few years back, but when the young owners Joelle Luviengco, Eric Galvis and Pibo Pagadion thought of going serious about it, they leased a space here in Magiting Street and started making the best out of it.

Lunch at Homies, Maginahawa Street

As the Food Panda Maginahawa Food Crawl journey continues, after our colorful visit at Katz Diner and short but sweet peek at Casa Quesadilla, the group pushes through our next destination. And despite of feeling the weight brought about by the first two food joints, there's something about Homies that we could not resist. And yes, we want more rice!

Located at #51-C Magiting Street, U.P. Village, Quezon City, just around Maginhawa Street, Homies, which is famous for its Pinoy Fried Chicken, served our lunch destination for this first-ever Food Panda Maginhawa Food Crawl.

They say this place is famous for college students due to its homey feel and home-cooked meals - and I agree with those kids. Upon arriving at this small but cozy place, I already sensed its inviting ambiance - aside from some jokes and fun they have prepared for their guests - there's something that one would about this place and make him/her eat a lot.

Morning Snack at Casa Quesadilla, Maginhawa Street

A few minutes after we "somehow" digest the amazing all-day breakfast offerings of Katz Diner, our Food Panda Maginhawa Food Crawl group pushed on to our next destination. What I thought would be our "lunch destination" happens to be just our morning snack destination - surprise!

Plastered with yellow, green and red stripes, our morning was made more colorful and festive as we partake the Mexican offerings of Casa Quesadilla at #176 Maginhawa Street, Sikatuna Village, Quezon City. Nacho Libre ain't here but they got free Ultimate Nachos here, so yay!

A perfect spot for some Mexican bingeing, Casa Quesadilla is probably the one of the most affordable Mexican joint that anyone could find around the metro. With Mexican delights such as quesadillas, tacos, burritos, nachos and fries, Casa Quesadilla boasts with some modern yet simple take on Mexican food that anyone could enjoy.

Breakfast at Katz Diner, Maginhawa Street

Last year, I wish to have more time to explore the metropolis' best foodie places, and God is so good hearing my prayers letting me not just to explore but to indulge on the amazing dishes the metro has to offer. Special thank to Food Panda for hosting a super feeling "Food Crawl" at Quezon City's food haven, Maginhawa Street - one of the best that I've been to this year!

It was fine Saturday morning when we had the very first Food Panda Maginhaw Food Crawl. With a number of food bloggers with me, we explored the friendly neighborhood of Maginhawa Street, which is now famous for affordable, delectable and unique dishes.

We were schedule to have breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner that day, but since I have an appointment that night, I got to join the team until the second snack only, nonetheless, I left Maginhawa so full and so happy due to the fun bunch I'm with.

Figaro of the North

Whether it is in the South or, in this case, North, there's always something about Figaro Coffee that we'll never get tired of having, right? It's purely Filipino approach to the oldest drink is what makes it more irresistible. And now that it opens it space at Trinoma, there are more reasons to love the brand over and over again.

Hello there! Welcome to the Figaro of the North!

A few days back, my sister and I spent a relaxing Sunday at the newest kiosk of Figaro in Trinoma, Quezon City. With enough space to serve about a dozen of coffee drinkers, this place served as our nest after our shopping craze in the mall.

Despite of being newly opened, it was so nice to know that they offer their delicious meals here that are just as good as its looks.

My Unbelievable Project Pie Experience

"If I were you, I'll have half of Number 1 and half of Number 2."

Number 1 and Number 2 Pizza

When I asked him what a first-timer like me should have from Project Pie, these are the words that came from the man who is behind all of these pizza building experiences that we are having now right here in Manila, Mr. James Markham.

We may always get the food that we want, we may always have that perfect seat where we can enjoy these food, but it is not everyday that you'll run into the restaurant's owner, chat with him and give you great advises on how to enjoy the meals that he created for everyone.

This is my unbelievable Project Pie experience!

11 Dishes you must try at Maginhawa St., QC Food Festival

Gaining popularity for offering affordable yet excellent and homey meals to the peaceful and quite villages of U.P., Sikatuna and the likes, Maginahawa Street in Quezon City prepared something more exciting for everyone as its city celebrates its 75th Jubilee Anniversary this October 11.

Known for its great line-up of hole-in-the-wall food stations, Maginhawa is gearing up towards more unique and almost out-of-this-world food ideas that are sure to catch more attention and gather more foodies especially this coming weekend.

I had a wonderful time experiencing different food stalls in the area last weekend - finally! - from a simple "carenderia" type of place to the chic and modern kind to the artsy fartsy spot - Maginhawa Street is indeed a food haven everyone should visit and experience. It is through this activity that I realized how lucky these individuals, families and friends living around the area are - everything is simply amazing and irresistible!

Dragon Chef Trinoma - Now Open!

Nowadays, people are not just going to a place where there's delicious food, the ambiance and the interior are now playing major roles in choosing where to eat and where to stay. That's why here in the newly opened Chinese food haven in Trinoma, the Dragon Chef, they didn't just made a hearty dining place, they also made it hip for every foodie to enjoy!

Located at the fourth level - garden area of this hippest mall in Quezon City, Dragon Chef opened its doors just two weeks ago to give a more colorful twist in every Pinoy's Chinese cravings. From the makers of Robotosan, Sumo Sam, John & Yoko, Mr. Kurosawa, Marciano’s and more, Dragon Chef promises to make your stay in their place as unique as possible but still with that classic home, Pinoy style.

On my first visit here, the splash of vibrant colors welcomed me as well as the wonderful aroma of their dishes came crawling up to my nostrils. I guess the hippy look of this place was specifically made to boost our appetite, because even though I wasn't that hungry that night, I managed to eat a lot and enjoyed most of their offerings.

The Red Crab Series: Komrad at Eastwood Libis

Inspired by two distinct districts of China, Komrad got its remarkable and worth-sharing dishes from the districts of Hunan and Sichuan. With both being located at the southern part of the country with mostly high-intensity dishes, or spicy in simplest term, Komrad at Eastwood Mall in Libis, Quezon City just opened its door to share to you authentic Hunan and Sichuan dishes.

Located at the second level of the Eastwood Mall, along the Veranda, Komrad is the newest addition to the growing themed restaurants of The Red Crab Group of Companies. And now, with actor-chef Marvin Agustin joining them on this project, Komrad is considered as one of the must-visit restaurant now here in Eastwood.

Luckily, last week, together with my favorite food bloggers, I was invited here to have a taste of their sweet and spicy Hunan and Sichuan dishes.

Cafe Monsees: Heavenly Goodness at Quezon City

Tomas Morato, Timog Avenue, Trinoma and Libis - these are probably the names of the places that one would utter when asked where to eat in Quezon City. But did you know that somewhere down in Katipunan Avenue, despite of that highway being too busy serving the school boys and school girls of Ateneo and U.P., a heavenly bakeshops offers the most heart-warming kinds of bread that you could find in this City of Stars. With it's name that came from one of the owner's, who is also a monsignor, Cafe Monsees is ready to serve a cloud of happiness to everyone!

Last Monday, since it was a long weekend, I graced an invitation to check out this place where they say heaven and earth meet. It is located along the the bustling street of Katipunan Avenue in White Plains, Quezon City, which to me, was very uncommon. But despite of its uncommonness to me, I braved in and let the burning excitement in me comes to life.

With its two red doors standing side by side, Cafe Monsees is very hard to miss. It is adjacent to other local foodie places that's why asking the cab driver to take us there was no problemo.

The Red Crab Series: Old Manila Bistro Patio Carlito and White House on 84th - Quezon City

Quezon City's Tomas Morato has been the hottest foodie spot in this city of stars. Cuisines like American, Spanish, Portuguese, Asian and some others can be easily found here. And with a variety that suits not only to your taste but to your pockets, too, no wonder, Tomas Morato is always packed with people who wants nothing but the best.

But did you know that just a few steps from this foodie avenue is a newly opened and really convenient foodie house that is ready to satisfy those cravings. Actually, it is just beside the very popular Pinoy Big Brother House, and it is named Old Manila Bistro Patio Carlito and it's restobar White House on 84th.

I got a chance to check out this place last week, and I think the word "house" is kinda an understatement... It was a mansion! Hehe.

A Hearty Dinner at O'sonho Jupiter

Pronounced as o-sonyo, this Portuguese restaurant located at Jupiter Street in Makati City will not just give you an astonishing gastronomic Portuguese adventure but also a hearty, Filipino-style warmth of welcoming that you and your busy buddies can enjoy after a day of hard work.

This is my second time to dine at O'sonho, but my first time to try it here in Jupiter Street, Makati.

I had a chance to try their dishes first in their Eastwood Mall branch, and I'd say that even though the place was kinda a little off for me because it is facing the other way around, I got to enjoy their food so much that made me appreciate Portuguese cuisine.

On this hearty dinner that I had in their first branch, I was welcomed by one of the owners, Cris Barancik, who made my Portuguese gastronomic adventure comeback more heart-warming and fun.

Joseph and Jaemark is back!

For those who don’t any idea what Joseph and Jaemark is, this is a place back in the late 80s to early 90s where celebrities used to dine in and enjoy a sumptuous and top of the class Filipino dishes. It was then located in Pasay City near Cuneta Astrodome, where people, celebrities alike, spent most of their, watching the B game.

And now, as the food industry in the country boot up again, the most love Tuna place is back with a better place at the very heart of Quezon City.

Fellas, let us all welcome Joseph and Jaemark’s Family Grill.

If you want try an all-Filipino feast with all of its distinctive flavours, drive now to J&J!

On my first experience to this newly revived place, I was quite not sure with what outstanding dish that they have to offer. First, the name of the place is quite a so-so to me. I mean, it’s not that catchy, especially to those who don’t know its history.

World’s Largest Bibingcrepe by Half Moon Asian Cafe

A first of its kind, I got to witness the first-ever and largest bibingcrepe I’ve seen in my whole life, and dear Lord, that was one huge piece of bibingcrepe! Hehehe.

Held last November 23 at Halfmoon Asian Cafe at Tomas Morato, Quezon City, I was invited with my fellow blogger to take part on this gigantic and momentous celebration of good friendship and good food.

GoodFellas Steaks and Burger

If there’s one steak house that I’ve been dreading to try these past few days, that’ll be Good Fellas Steaks and Burgers at Kamuning Road in Quezon City.

I’ve been hearing a lot of “not-so-good” stuff about this place, and now that I’ve got an invitation to try this place and experience the Good Fellas taste and style, I think it’s time to somehow prove them wrong.

On my first-ever visit, we tried different stuff from every category of their menu.

A Local Treasure at Asya

Whenever I hear the word “Asya”, the first thing that comes into my mind was the life I had back in high school remembering all the stuff about the countries in Asia. From their population to their geographical description up to the attitudes of every nation’s people, everything just keeps rushing back to my memory – a thing that is hard to control.

But if there’s something that I really loved about remembering all of these things, that’ll be the rich and very wonderful world of culinary of every nation in Asia.

And with this, let me introduce to you this new place that I’ve been to, a place that will soon-to-be the hippest spot in Quezon Citythe Centris Walk – and in this wonderful and amazing place nests a gastronomic hotspot that you will surely love, Asya.

The Centris Walk is such a very modern place, no wonder this new and upcoming restaurant chooses to stay here because of the oh-so perfect concept.

Asya is a really nice place, wide space and very decent setup. They have a private room for special functiosn which you can use upon request. And though, the whole space doesn’t speak of the whole continent per se, they have these chairs that are some weird and funny at the same time.

A Hearty Afternoon at Figaro Scout Magbanua

This was probably one of the best meet-and-greet-the-owner-of -the-place that I’ve been to. And to be honest, it was really a fun afternoon or should I say an unexpected-to-be-a-fun afternoon.

And to be honest to all of you, I didn’t write this blog because I was invited to the event. I wrote this blog because I wanna share to you all my wonderful afternoon with Dra. Linda Luz Amante, the franchiser of Figaro Scout Magbanua.
