Celebrate Oktoberfest History with Draft Gastropub and Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier

On October 15, 22 and 29, Draft Gastropub takes you back in time as it brings to Manila the much-awaited tradition from Germany with lots of eats, live musical performances, fun-filled beer games, and Paulaner Oktobefest Bier, Germany’s number one wheat beer and one of the world’s most favorite brew, to complete an authentic ‘Oktoberfestivities’!

It was over 200 years ago when Paulaner was asked to do a special brew for the marriage of Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. Munich residents celebrated the wedding in a meadow called ‘Theresienwiese’ now known as “Wiesn”. Soon, the marriage festivities became that romping annual beer celebration known worldwide as “Oktoberfest” where Paulaner played a large part being one of only six breweries invited to serve at Munich’s Oktoberfest. Today, millions of people converge to celebrate Oktoberfest wherever they are, making it one of the largest festivals in the world.

The authentic Bavarian culture will be relived at the heart of Manila as the ultimate Oktoberfest revelry reels off at Draft Gastropub in Greenbelt 2 on October 15 at 7:00pm. It will be followed by more merriment at Draft Alabang on October 22 before wrapping up with an oom-pah at The Fort Strip on October 29. The European style pub promises an Oktoberfest experience, serving the authentic Oktoberfest beer straight from Munich which is the Paulaner bier, also known as the "Octoberfest Ale".

What’s the perfect match to German beer in an Oktoberfest setting? Sausages, of course! So Chef Carlo Miguel prepared heart Bratwurst, Bockwurst, Italian and Andouille sausages and their perfect foil such as sides of sauerkraut, double mashed potato, corn sucottash, frites and spaetzle.

Draft will also roll out the barrel of fun as guests may join in good-natured games of arm wrestling and beer pong. Participation is free of charge and prizes will be given away to winners. Of course, the celebration wouldn’t be complete without getting down to live music by bands playing at the venue. So get ready to gear up in those dirndls and lederhosens and practice saying “Prost!” and get a taste of beer history at Draft Gastropub.

Prost!
