Melting with the La Piadina's Heart & Soul

When speaking of delicious and affordable "Food Court" food, I bet mall rats would have La Piadina on top of their lists. With its heartwarming and almost authentic Italian look and flavor, Filipino's love for Italian food was hyped up even more when Chef Giorgio Matera, La Piadina's heart and soul - opened its first store at the food court of Glorietta in Ayala Center, Makati City.

T'was 12 years ago when our favorite Italian dishes were launched in a hole-in-a-wall concept at Glorietta's food court, Food Choices. Featuring new and exciting menu from four select regions in Italy - Puglia, Emilia Romagna, Piemonte and Toscana - La Piadina's Chef Giorgio shares his greatness in cooking Italian dishes together with his wife, who by the way love our country so much.

Fueled by his passion for Italian food, he took the challenge of venturing into the fast food business, believing that food whether expensive or inexpensive, fine, casual or fast food must always be fresh and of the best quality.

Getting Chocolate-y Crazy with Valor Chocolates

When you've got nothing to do on a weekend and got no one to talk to, you cook a delicious and comforting food that will make you calm, happy and contented - that's what happened to me last weekend. And since everyone was so busy last weekend, got no siblings to fight with and got no friends to hangout with, I ended up cooking a pancake at home and used the Valor Hazelnut Choco Spread that was given to me, while enjoying the bars of Valor Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Mousse with Truffle on the side.

To most of us, Valor Chocolates may not be that new, but to some who don't know yet, Valor Chocolates originated from Spain, and created by Valeriano Lopez Lloret. Defined by a passion to produce the best chocolate, Lloret together with his family of master chocolatiers, set up factory in 1881, and since then, five generations have been at the helm of Valor Chocolates and have managed to transform the brand into an international standard.

The milk is actually an eye-catcher. With its golden packaging and really top-of-the-line appeal to everyone, I wasn't surprised that my nieces loved it! But since I'm a heavy chocolate eater, someone who prefers something that will challenge my palette, the Dark Chocolate Mousse with Truffle was mine - all mine.

Teddy's Bigger Burger - Are You Ready?

There's no typhoon, but be sure you are ready, because this Saturday, August 23, a storm is coming our way! Originally from Hawaii, and with a chance of meatball, Teddy's Bigger Burger is taking the country by storm as they unleash and share their bigger burgers that spell nothing but D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S.

Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii where owners Ted Tsakiris and Rich Stula opened their first burger joint at the base of Diamond Head, Teddy's Bigger Burger is now available in 11 locations in Hawaii, and has recently opens in Washington and Iowa, and soon in California and Texas.

Here in Asia, Teddy's Bigger Burger had its first store in Japan and now, seconded here in the Philippines.

Heavenly Brunch at Heaven & Eggs Glorietta

Serious question, when was the last time you had a fun, filling and relaxing breakfast time with your family or friends? In a city where everyone is so busy, it isn't really surprising to know that you cannot remember it anymore. That's why there are a lot of restaurants now that are offering all-day breakfast sets to let us still enjoy the food that give us smile in the morning.

And last weekend, together with some of my favorite blogger-friends, we re-experienced the heavenly goodness of Heaven & Eggs in Glorietta, Ayala Center, Makati along with some fun stories and friendly jokes.

I honestly cannot remember when was the last time I dine here in Heaven & Eggs but I'm pretty sure that it wasn't that bad. And now that it has a new owner, well, I'm just glad that it wasn't as intimidating as before. Plus, the fact that the dishes now are more diverse - meaning they are now offering Eastern and Western cuisines - I can't wait to go back and indulge on these heavenly goodness again.

Australian Oranges in Philippines Soil

Dubbed as "Australian Oranges – Now in Season", the event officially kicked off the season and availability of Australian oranges in the Philippines. Woohoo!

Citrus Australia is the first brand that reached the Philippine market, and though General Manager of Market Development Andrew Harty admitted that it took them years to finally sell these tasty and zesty Aussie goodness here in the Philippines, they are glad that they are finally here all thanks to the help of Australian Embassy in the Philippines.

It's Raining Ramyeon at Woo Galbi!

If there's one thing I love about this all-day rain, it's definitely the chance of enjoying a hot cup of noodle from my favorite resto in the metropolis. May it be a Chinese, Japanese, Filipino or Korean, as long as its savory, filling and comforting, I'm up for it! And recently, I got to enjoy a truly filling flavorful servings of Korea's ramyeon or ramen from one of my favorite new restos in the city, Woo Galbi at Shangri-La Plaza East Wing.

Chili's shares "More Life' - our Way!

Chili's is indeed unstoppable in sharing the most wonderful Southwestern dishes they could create. And if you think they haven't thought of infusing some Filipino flavor to their latest dishes, I guess you haven't experienced the Chili's newest offerings. I bet, you'll enjoy Chili's more - your way!

Last week, I had a chance to revisit one of my favorite dining places in the metro - Chili's. If you are on a budget but you wanna have a great time, drinking and snacking some food, Chili's is really the place to be. With their wide array of enjoyable drinks and cocktails, they have something to match with your craving, which is also offered through their colorful selection of dishes.

On my visit, I've tried Chili's three new dishes - the Fried Quesadilla Bites, Bacon & Cheddar Steak and the Parmesan Chicken or Tilapia. Told you, get ready for some American-Southwestern-Filipino food infusion.

La Paz Batchoy: Ted's, Netongs and Deco's

Iloilo will always be a favorite city of mine. Its rich history that is well-kept and proud, traditions that spell colors and love, and food that are just wonderful and shares the goodness of Ilonggos. And as I revisit this favorite city of mine a few months back, I indulged on to an amazing food trip that spells hot, flavorful and authentic Ilonggo dish we all love, the La Paz Batchoy!

But unlike before, I enjoyed Iloilo's tastiest dish the different way - a comparative way, actually. For this food trip, I went around the city eating three of the most well-known La Paz Batchoy noodles. I was in Iloilo for four days, so as not to get myself so overwhelmed with this Iloilo's goodness, I just had one La Batchoy noodle a day.

On my first day, as soon as I landed, I first went to Ted's Oldtimer La Paz Batchoy, which is located at SM City Iloilo. If you are commuting around town or if you are coming from the airport via shuttle services, Ted's is really a good starter to stuff your tummy with Iloilo goodness.
