A Taste of S.O.U.L. in La Union

While some of you are probably preparing to bid goodbye to your uber fun summer vacation at the country's Summer Capital, here I am sharing one more food spot that I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy and will leave a smile on your faces just before you go back to your normal lives.

Going down via the long and sometimes skull racking zigzag road of the Mountain Province  to the flatland of La Union is one of the many challenges every traveler has to face just before reaching the flat and straight road of North Luzon Express (NLEX). I, myself, is not a fan of those zigzag roads, especially if I am coming from Baguio City. Other than the fact that it's so hard to say goodbye to the Pine City, the zigzag road from Baguio to La Union is just so hard to tolerate. It sickening and deafening at the same time.

But did you know that there's a better way to deal with this not-so-good experience? Let's just say that there's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and in this case, the pot of gold is represented by S.O.U.L Cafe or the Spice of Urban Life at Camp One, Rosario, La Union.

Casa Noble Tequila Now in Manila

Made from 100% organically grown "blue agave", the critically acclaimed and acknowledged as one of the finest ultra premium tequila brands is finally here in Manila. Yes, I am talking about Carlos Santana's tequila, the Casa Noble Ultra Premium Tequila.

Welcomed and celebrated at Sage, Makati Shangri-La, Casa Noble Ultra Premium Tequila also presented its newest brand ambassador and shaker, Manila’s very own Party King, Mr. Tim Yap, who is an avid tequila enthusiast.

Tim Yap

Casa Noble Ultra Premium Tequila is the perfect toast for every occasion. It's widely sought after for its unique aroma, smooth taste and distinctly satisfying velvety finish. It has that licorice flavor that we love about tequila and at the same time that kick that will make you ask for another glass.

The Avida Food Hunt in Makati

Nowadays, finding a good place to eat is so easy - from one mall to one park to one subdivision, down to one barangay - this just proves how Filipinos love to eat. And recently, hosted by Avida Land, a food hunt was launched at the city that makes it all happen, through the fun and learning guidance of the one and only Pinoy Eats World Master Chef JJ Yulo.

Targeting the quiet and simple San Antonio Village, Avida Land invited media personalities and selected bloggers to the launch of the first-ever Avida Food Hunt - an initiative, which aims to showcase some of the newly opened and hole-in-the-wall food spots in the area that offers world-class pleasure to foodies and alike.

Avida Food Hunt Makati Map

I've been in San Antonio Village before, but I honestly didn't know - not until our chef-guide told us - that San Antonio Village here in Makati is the haven of fresh international ingredients, which are used by the high-end hotels and restaurants in the metro.

Fat Tuesday at Murray's New Orleans - BHS

If I'm not mistaken, this is my third year celebrating Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras here at Murray's New Orleans - Boni High Street. And just like the previous years, my night here was filled with soothing music and great food that are just perfect to have before the whole Catholic community welcomes the Lenten Season.

Last March 4, together with some friends, we kinda somehow welcomed the Lent with these really filling and colorful dishes from Murray's New Orleans in Boni High Street. Mardi Gras is one of the Western tradition, we at the East, are starting to adopt. And even though it is still attracting more attentions from Filipinos, here at New Orleans, Mardi Gras is actually an annual thing inviting passerby's to drink and be merry on the eve of Ash Wednesday.

Adorned with metallic beads, masks and classy lighting, the party here at New Orleans offered a some sort of relaxing vibe that local and international guests enjoyed. There was a live band performing from time to time, and the servers were all dolled up like it we were really doing the real thing.

Marked with big X, Wendy's latest burger offers a crisp and chewy pretzel bun sandwiching Wendy's signature 100% U.S. beef patty that is just so sinfully good. Of course, this delicious surprise wouldn't be complete without the goodness added by the strips of bacon, melted cheddar cheese, spring of greens and the one that sticks them altogether, the smoky honey mustard.

Food Tripping in Baguio's Slaughter House

Some of you may feel uncomfortable to see this. Some of you may not believe that I did it, and assume that I eat like a vampire. And then, there must be some of you who knows the place and can't help but to drool now as you are being reminded of those tasty yet very affordable dishes that you once had here in Baguio City's famous Slaughter House.

Formerly a real slaughter house, this place is technically in Balajadia Street in Barangay Sto. Nino, Baguio City. Famous for its unique dishes, which are mostly aphrodisiacs, this place may not be the usual food spot to ordinary visitors, but believe me when I say that you'll enjoy the food here more than you know.

Coming here may be a little problem to some, since its real street name is over shadowed by the name "Slaughter House". But don't worry, there are a lot of Baguio cab drivers who are familiar with the place, so asking them to take you here in Baranggay Sto. Nino will definitely no fuss.

Breakfast at Baguio's Casa Vallejo

By now, I know most of you are so excited for this week to be over. With the culminating activity of Panagbenga Festival happening in the cold and lovely Summer Capital of the Philippines this weekend, I'm sure that your bags are already packed and your itinerary is good to go. But just in case something went wrong, like stuck in the traffic since Session Road will be closed for traffic for the festivity and you are hungry and wanted to have some decent food, I suggest that you head to Casa Vallejo's Hill Station.

Perfectly located at the sprawling Session Road, where old and new meets in Baguio City, Casa Vallejo is actually one of the oldest structures in the city that is being preserved until now. Built in 1909, Casa Vallejo offers an American-inspired ambience adding romance and class to the whole City of Pines.

But before we go back in time to find out more about the place, let's go back to the main reason why I went here and why am I sharing this blog - FOOD!
