The Art of Japanese Cuisine in Wafu's Teppanyaki Omakase Buffet

Situated at the very heart of Greenhills, San Juan, opened almost a  year now, Wafu is a modern-style Japanese restaurant giving twist and modern approach to Japanese dishes that swept many Filipinos feet and palette off. And last week, together with some friends, I was able to try their latest sit-down offering that consist of 12 hot out-of-the-stove dishes collectively known as the Teppanyaki Omakase Buffet.

Yes, you read it right - BUFFET. So, if you think that the small servings of 12 different Japanese dishes won't be enough, you can keep them coming as long as you finish the first set of 12 dishes, according to out serving chef that night, Jonathan.

Anyway, upon getting our spot on the second level of this very exquisite restaurant - the most exquisite Japanese restaurant, I've been to, actually - our group was welcomed by our chef and two more servers who will be guiding us t our Japanese cuisine adventure.

Whipping Christmas with Clara Ole Products!

Last week, I received a sweet package from a brand that is now ready to fill our Christmas dining table with delicious and healthy meals that aren't just eye-candy but also easy to prepare. And to be honest, I didn't expect that Clara Ole's brand is now this big and composed of really exciting products that can help not only moms but also those who aspire to know how to cook.

Everyday, one of my mom's daily problems is what food to cook for me and my siblings. Her knowing us how "maarte" we are when it comes to home-cooked meals, especially me, because I rarely have a chance to eat at home due to my busy schedule outside, she always makes sure that her dishes are 100% perfect when we are all home to dine and to bond.

And if everyday isn't enough, well, holidays, like this coming Christmas, takes the challenge up for her to whip up with something more delicious and memorable that is enough for it to serve as our Christmas gift from her.

Wicked opens at Shangri-La Plaza East Wing

Evil, sinful, naughty, mischievous, playful and roguish - whatever and however you define the WICKED, I really don't mind now. Because by the opening of this new sweet shop in Shangri-La Plaza in Manadaluyong, nothing can change the definition of "Wicked" in my mind - which is sweet, delicious, sinfully good and playfully thought!

Led by Chef Christine Paredes of Cravings, and helped out by in-house chefs Ton Albasin, RJ Bernabe and Mac Reyes, Wicked is a place where one can have his/her sweets with a shot of their favorite alcohol. Exciting as it sounds, Wicked's menu is divided into three characteristics sure to tickle one's mind - the Wickedly Sinful, Wickedly Sexy, and Wickedly Intoxicating.

I had a wonderful time visiting the place on its opening day last October 15, and boy, the day that I thought I'll just be having some sweets turns out to be a wonderful time having a chat with Chef Christine, sharing some information about the place and how they've come up with such a "wicked" idea.

Taters Sandwich: Are You a Sandwicher?

While everyone is in Luneta screaming "No to Pork! No to Pork!", I and five of my friends are having a tasty non-pork meal in Trinoma that shares nothing but the most delectable chicken sandwich. Glazed in sweet and tangy honey mustard dressing, Taters' featured sandwich for the month of August - California Honey Chicken - is definitely something that all chicken sandwich lover should try now.

Available in ala carte and in combo meal, Taters' California Honey Chicken is simply different from the usual chicken sandwich that we have now in the market. Grilled to its tenderness but still keeping that tasty juice, the chicken in this sandwich is so divine that you won't be guilty having it from time to time.

And with its crispy and flavorful look sure to share to everyone that filling experience, Burger King Chicken Crisp Fillet Sandwich is a must-try this season!

From the original home of the Whopper comes juicier, more “FILLET-vorful” chicken sandwich in the market set to crave every Lafanggero's palette with it two variants everyone would love - the Chicken Crisp Fillet Garlic Mayo and the Chicken Crisp Fillet Honey Mustard.

Two of the country's most loved taste, I was able to indulge on these freshly prepared sandwiches last Saturday in Burger King E-Com Two in Mall of Asia Complex.

The hand-pressed, breaded and immediately deep-fried to transfat-free oil chicken fillets came juicy and tasty, just enough to give me that crunch I enjoyed in my every bite. The crisp, fresh and green lettuce added sweetness to the well-cooked chicken fillet. But what makes the whole experience really good was sauces that are generously smothered in every sandwich.

All-time Favorite from Pinkberry - Strawberry!

I guess Pinkberry wouldn't as pink as it should be without one of the world's all-time favorite flavors in their stores, right? And so, as this unique flavor finally hits their Philippine stores, I'm sure that more and more yogurt lovers will fall deeply in love with Pinkberry, most specially now that they finally have Strawberry Pinkberry

Strawberry, being on one-of-a-kind flavor that tastes just like the fruit itself is what Pinkberry sharing to us in this cold rainy season. Perfect to pair with their distinct and delicious toppings, I was able to enjoy that and a whole lot more last time as I was invited to food taste every cool combination they have prepared for their guests: Strawberry Classic (fresh strawberries and balsamic glaze), Strawberry Truffle (fresh strawberries, milk chocolate crunch and a waffle cookie), Strawberry Squeeze (fresh strawberries, fresh watermelon and watermelon puree), Strawberry Crunch (fresh strawberries, low fat oats honey granola, toasted almonds), and finally, the Strawberry Duet (fresh strawberries, raspberry, coconut).

Everything made the strawberry flavor really exciting, but for me, the one that really gave me this sweet and relaxing flavor fit for this kind of weather that we are having is the Strawberry Truffles.

Love, Love, Love for the Crumpy Choco and Crumpy Nut!

There are days that butter, cheese or ever mayonnaise is not enough to brighten one's breakfast. Specially during the days where the clouds are dark and rain just keeps on pouring. Luckily, last weekend, as I enjoy the applause of the raindrops on our roof and the smell of hot teh tarik that I got from Malaysia, I have these two delicious and comforting bread spreads perfect to brighten up my days - Crumpy Choco and Crumpy Nut!

Originally from Belgium, Crumpy bread spread offers a delectable sweet flavors suit for those people who love to start their day with some sweetness. I have their Crumpy Choco and Crumpy Nut last weekend, and though I honestly don't want to compare one another, I can't help to. Hahaha!

If you want something that is purely chocolate-y goodness, the Crumpy Choco is the perfect choice for you. With every scoop of this thick and creamy chocolate spread, I'm sure that your endorphin will run wild and will give you that satisfying happiness that you would love - most specially if you love Belgian chocolates. ^_^
