The Avida Food Hunt in Makati

Nowadays, finding a good place to eat is so easy - from one mall to one park to one subdivision, down to one barangay - this just proves how Filipinos love to eat. And recently, hosted by Avida Land, a food hunt was launched at the city that makes it all happen, through the fun and learning guidance of the one and only Pinoy Eats World Master Chef JJ Yulo.

Targeting the quiet and simple San Antonio Village, Avida Land invited media personalities and selected bloggers to the launch of the first-ever Avida Food Hunt - an initiative, which aims to showcase some of the newly opened and hole-in-the-wall food spots in the area that offers world-class pleasure to foodies and alike.

Avida Food Hunt Makati Map

I've been in San Antonio Village before, but I honestly didn't know - not until our chef-guide told us - that San Antonio Village here in Makati is the haven of fresh international ingredients, which are used by the high-end hotels and restaurants in the metro.

Fat Tuesday at Murray's New Orleans - BHS

If I'm not mistaken, this is my third year celebrating Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras here at Murray's New Orleans - Boni High Street. And just like the previous years, my night here was filled with soothing music and great food that are just perfect to have before the whole Catholic community welcomes the Lenten Season.

Last March 4, together with some friends, we kinda somehow welcomed the Lent with these really filling and colorful dishes from Murray's New Orleans in Boni High Street. Mardi Gras is one of the Western tradition, we at the East, are starting to adopt. And even though it is still attracting more attentions from Filipinos, here at New Orleans, Mardi Gras is actually an annual thing inviting passerby's to drink and be merry on the eve of Ash Wednesday.

Adorned with metallic beads, masks and classy lighting, the party here at New Orleans offered a some sort of relaxing vibe that local and international guests enjoyed. There was a live band performing from time to time, and the servers were all dolled up like it we were really doing the real thing.

That Pretzel Bun from Wendy's

Ever had a burger that is so good you don't wanna put it down and stop munching on it til the last bite? Well, I had that moment when I finally tried Wendy's Philippines' latest offering - and yes, FINALLY, it's here in the country - the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger!

Marked with big X, Wendy's latest burger offers a crisp and chewy pretzel bun sandwiching Wendy's signature 100% U.S. beef patty that is just so sinfully good. Of course, this delicious surprise wouldn't be complete without the goodness added by the strips of bacon, melted cheddar cheese, spring of greens and the one that sticks them altogether, the smoky honey mustard.
