Chihuhua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar: Tex-Mex Dishes in Manila

Finding one enjoyable foodie spot in Makati City isn't really that big of a problem because in almost every village here, in every street here, and in every corner here you can find one satisfying food joint that will fill your tummy and will give value to your money. And with that great reasons, Houston-raised Elian Habayeb created something that metropolis' foodistas would enjoy, and it has something to do with Texan and Mexican dishes... Welcome to Chihuhua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar!

Chihuhua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar is located at the bustling street of Makati Avenue. With its doors open from 11 in the morning til 3 in the morning from Monday to Thursday, til 5 in the morning on Fridays and Saturdays, and til midnight on Sundays, employees on a day shift and night shift can have a huge bite of their wonderful dishes.

Chihuhua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar is also targeting party-goers who are looking for a hangout place after swagging inside the cool clubs of Makati and Taguig

On my first-ever visit here, I was actually surprised to know that this place is just outside A Venue Mall. And to add more delight to my first-ever visit here, Chihuhua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar's General Manager Elian Hayeb was there welcoming and accommodating us, their guests.

He gladly escorted us to his place and shared some wonderful stories on how he came up with this great grill and bar idea here in Makati.

Since, I, and the rest of the gang that I'm with, were not that familiar with Tex-Mex dishes, Elian whole-heartily guided us as to what to have to enjoy their amazing offerings.

Choosing the dishes that you wanna have here in Chihuhua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar is as easy as 1, 2, 3 and 4.

1. Choose you Main Dish from tacos, burrito, burrito bowl and salad.
2. Choose the kind of Meat that you wanna have for your Main Dish from their selection of steak, chicken, pork carnitas and grilled veggies.

This part right here will cost you Php295.00. He said that their servings are usually good for 2 to 3 persons, so I really find the price reasonable.

3. Choose you Side Dish from Mexican Rice, Chili, Nacho Grande, Chips and Queso and Tortilla Soup. Of course this part right here is optional, but to satisfy your Tex-Mex craving and if you wanna enjoy your visit here, I suggest that you at least pick one from these side dishes and have it with your friends or family.

4. Choose you drink. Chihuhua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar offers the best of the best drink, from imported sodas, iced teas, beer and bottled wine down to the local favorites. Name it and I'm sure they'll have it for you. ^_^ But if I were you, I'll have their own blend of frozen margarita named Chihuahuarita, which is made of 100% Mexican tequila and pure lime juice (no sugar added).

While waiting for our orders, Elian continued our tour to his resto, and this time he presented to us their Wall of Famous Hot Sauces. It was my first time to see that huge collection of hot sauces, and from then on, I know that I'm in for some hot and delicious treat!

Elian also showed us their small salsa bar where one can create his or her own salsa.

Other stuff that you can do while waiting for your orders are checking out the fun photos they have on their walls. I love looking a happy people pictures, and this one really added a good vibes to the place. And for more happiness, they have these board games that you can borrow to enjoy your stay here with your family and friends.

And now, to share to all of you the Tex-Mex dishes that we had that day, have your eyes focus on these photos and let your drool flows! Hahaha! Just kidding!

Pork Carnitas Tacos - Php295.00

Burrito Bowl with Steak - Php295.00

Chicken Burritos - Php295.00

Chili - Php265.00

Nacho Grande - Php245.00

The experience in trying all of these Tex-Mex dishes was like a quick trip to that part of America where people know how to eat great food. I know that I'll be enjoying the dishes its just that I didn't expect that they could really fill the tummies of five very hungry people. And so with that, I can say that this joint REALLY gives great value to our money and at the same time offers a comforting and enjoyable ambiance and taste.

Among the three main dishes that we've got to try, I like Burrito Bowl the best. The appetizing appeal and the combination of aroma and flavors definitely fired up the spicy-food lover in me. As for the the two side dishes, I love them both, so don't bother pushing me to which is the best. Hehe.

Arizona Canned Iced Tea (imported)

To help me with my munching, I had this can of imported iced tea named Arizona. It was my first time to try it and I'm glad that I had it for my meal. It helped my palette appreciate the flavors of all the dishes I had here. But of course, nothing can beat even at high noon and anyone's visit here wouldn't be complete without trying their famous margarita. Elian offered us a shot-glass of it so that we can have an idea on how good it is, and as expected, it was great! Refreshing and citrus-y, two great components of a wonderful margarita!

A Shot Glass of Chihuahuarita

Every Monday, they have this Margarita Madness. So, to those margarita lovers, you know what day to come here, all right? Hehe.

Chihuhua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar also features amazing house and disco music, which some of it were created by Elian himself. They have this Music and Wine Radio Show too that airs on www.musicandwineradio.com.

Thank you, Chihuhua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar!
I'll be back and I'll dance Salsa with you guys! Hehe.

Happy eating!

  5. My fav mexican spot was Hermanos in Grennhills, but they now charge for there AUTHENTIC hot sauce which used to be free like they do states side and like it should be done here. I hope this place gives the hot sauce free, its like going to a burger spot and charging your customers for using the KETCHUP bottles!
